Listing a Nanbokucho katana which is at the upper end of the quality range for Ko-Uda. The blade is strongly seated in the soshu-den with a vibrant nie-deki hamon, with violent activity along the habuchi. I have done my best to show the intricacies of the workings in these photos. The jihada is itame, with some larger formations, but no tiredness showing and lacking the coarseness which is seen in many Ko-Uda works. The boshi is beautiful and healthy (shown in photos here). This katana measures 2 shaku 2 sun 2 bu, and has an Edo period koshirae with yamagane kirimon kogai and mitokoromono of samurai. Tokubetsu Hozon.
