This is a very elaborate and pleasing daisho having the motif of insects and leaves throughout the entire set. From Mino fittings, a name that is often seen is Mino ju Kanenaka. Both of the fuchigashira here are signed with the mei of Kanenaka and having matching workmanship, of plants and insects. The menuki are Edo period pieces in shakudo depicting seapods. The plant theme continues with the daisho tsuba set, signed with a gold seal. This koshirae features fine lacquer work of insects throughout. This is a beautiful daisho that displays exceptionally well and which would be the centerpiece of any nihonto display in your home.
