Kiyokane was a well known and highly rated gendai smith during the war. He was placed as 3rd seat in the 1941 shinsakuto competition. This sword is great example of his work, of good length and wide mihaba. The sword is in shirasaya and has a nice shin-gunto koshirae with gloss green saya. Hamon is a well done gonome midare having deep nie, and with a sugu ko-maru boshi. Hada is a tight itame. Dated August 1942.
