Shōbu-zukuri (菖蒲造り) is a traditional Japanese sword blade geometry characterized by its smooth, continuous curve from the base to the kissaki (tip), resembling the shape of an iris leaf (菖蒲, shōbu). This style is commonly seen in katana (刀), wakizashi (脇差), and tantō (短刀) and is often considered a refined evolution of shinogi-zukuri (鎬造り).
