Osoraku-zukuri (恐らく造り) is a rare and distinctive blade geometry primarily seen in tantō (短刀). This style is characterized by an exceptionally large kissaki (切先, tip), making up nearly half the length of the blade. The name “Osoraku” (恐らく) is believed to come from the phrase “Osoraku kore wa tantō nari” (恐らくこれは短刀なり), meaning “Perhaps this is a tantō”, a reference to its unusual proportions.
